Important, Important, Important
Family Announcement for NBC
When we decided to resume corporate worship at the end of August, it was with the codicil that if local and state virus statistics changed, we would reconsider whether to remain open for worship.
Over the past few weeks, the recorded instances of COVID-19 once again began to spike locally and throughout the state. In Apache County, the metrics used for the reopening of public schools have gone from three green lights to a flickering one. Throughout the state, schools are once again being closed and have returned to online classes.
Locally, there has been a sharp increase of reported COVID cases county wide. This afternoon, I visited with our dear brother Randy Elliot who has contracted the virus. He pulled no punches in his assessment that this illness is something to be avoided. He is a hairs breath from having to go to the emergency room.
Recently, our President provided reassuring words that vaccines and potent therapeutic drugs are nearly ready for distribution. There is hope that this terrible gift from the Orient may be approaching a manageable conclusion reasonably soon. It would be a tragedy to have one or more of our beloved family members suffer from this illness when an end may be in sight.
Therefore, based on the current local statistics, the elders have decided to return to electronic worship. We will, as always, begin worship at 11:00 a.m. on Facebook. The service will also be recorded for later viewing on Facebook, YouTube and our church website.
Please understand that this decision is the last thing that we want to do. However, we believe that this is the loving and responsible approach to take.
This being said, we will not participate in corporate worship at NBC tomorrow. Worship will, again, be electronic. We pray for your support. Remember that it takes a lot of time to prepare the messages, work with the electronics, and pull together a worship service of this type. Please let us know that you support our effort and our desire to keep our church family together by joining in and letting us know that you are sharing this time together with us.
I would also like to express a special note of thanks to Rebecca. She has done some beautiful decorating in the church building and is completing the work on the Christmas boxes on her own. God bless you Rebecca and Linda for carrying the ball on this important work.
